What may remain of ramparts is probably underneath fern, fireweed, and brambles. It has been argued to be a defended Iron Age settlement, shorn up on 3 sides by human efforts, defining an area about 60 by 90 feet. A ditch and bank is supposed to be visible on the W. This view is looking towards Church Stretton and really is all there about to be seen; though it is a pleasant location. The nearby 1902 church of St Michael & All Angels has a very attractive exterior, and well documented flora and fauna in the churchyard. |
