(2008-08-25) | "A horizontal hole through the neck may once have held detachable arms.." (I pictured him, instead, with a polished rod or stick thrust through his neck - possibly even threaded on it with other wooden figures - which led me to grin at also imagining him as one of the team in a very early version of our modern table football games! [Coincidentally, the ball-clay firm Watts Blake Bearne who own him, sponsor very successful football teams, ;-)!!]) | AngieLake
