Description Front of a promotional postcard for Salisbury & South Wiltshire Museum's "Inspired By Stonehenge" exhibition. The reverse says "A new exhibition exploring the many ways people have experienced and been inspired by Stonehenge. From postcards to music, T-shirts to toasting forks there's something for everyone." The exhibition is on from 14 June to 20 September 2008 - see www.salisburymuseum.org.uk for details.

The four artefacts on the postcard are (top left) pink Stonehenge cup and saucer of German origin, (top right) Stonehenge 'snow shaker' available from various tourist shops in Salisbury for £1.99, (bottom left) Stonehenge box by Wedgewood, (bottom right) vinyl record in a trilithon shape.

I must make sure I get to see this exhibition of Stonehenge tat. I could not bring myself to forgive me if I missed it, and in particular the boogle, or whatever its called (been out for a late night, so I am not thinking totally straight).

Have to say there is usually something very uplifting about complete and utter tat. For example, I love the Tate modern. So long as it is not meant to be taken seriously. The Crack was brilliant.

It is a Stonehenge tat-fest, although I don't think they would have got the funding if they just came straight out and called it that.
