|Description ||I spent a lovely half hour or more sitting on the summit of Gib Hill [the 'capstone' in the foreground] on a warm June afternoon. From this angle the landscape features fascinated me so much that I sketched them with their compass readings. (See separate posting). If you look closely you will see that they are very symmetrical, with the shallow slopes of evenly sized hills rising each side of a larger distant hill, whose orientation was 204 degs. Could this have been some kind of 'Mother Earth' focus for the ancient people? Was there a lunar focal point that far south?|
