The Romans adapted the henge into an amphitheatre, but it is an impressive monument nonetheless, especially given its proximity to the town - like IN the town!
When I took this picture, the rain was chucking down; I was trying to shield the camera from rain, and so did not get any shots out of the relative cover of the nearly denuded trees. |
