Description This is Maumbury Ring SY690899, a henge not far out of Dorchester centre; Dorchester South train station is 3 minutes walk away, if that. The Romans adapted the henge into an amphitheatre, but it is an impressive monument nonetheless, especially given its proximity to the town - like IN the town! When I took this picture, the rain was chucking down; I was trying to shield the camera from rain, and so did not get any shots out of the relative cover of the nearly denuded trees.
