Description The chamber not only seems to point in the direction of the hill top but the shape is similar as well

Big one, isn't it? What would the alignment be to the distant peak?

If memory serves me correctly i think it was a southerly direction similar to the direction of the first part of the farmers trackway. Although the track veers to the left the site is in a field on the right hand side of the track so as you enter the field its pretty much in front of you.

'12-o'clock-rock' came to mind when I read that!

LOL sorry I didn't have the land ranger map so couldn't give a clear indication, looking at the map the hill range i think is likely to be Cwmcenau (SW direction), not only that there is a burial chamber in between them that i missed :-6

Angie, came across your 2008 question while meandering through the Portal....looking more closely, I rather think the hill is Carningli - about 4.5miles away..bearing 210 if I'm not mistaken!! Definitely on my list to visit this spring... looks like a magnificent walk and view.

Thanks pab. It would be interesting to watch the sun go down over Carningli from here on Winter Solstice, then?
