I first visited in the 1970s when you just went- it was full of rusty tins and broken glass and graffiti - Its wonderful now - I try and visit at least once a year - You need to book 2 weeks in advance and they only let in 10 people at a time - Until UNESCO decides its too precious and stop the public all together!
