Although there are many other examples of neolithic tombs built close together, this site is outstanding:
3 mid-size longdolmens (Tombs I, II, III) (51m, 28m, 30m) are built in a line with only 2m-3m distance between their barrows. Another 39m longdolmen (Tomb IV) is situated 30m to the south and parallel to this 118 m ensemble.
In contrast to many other longdolmens in Germany the remaining tombs at Bliedersdorf have preserved most of their barrow-kerbstones and chamberstones.
On the other hand the earthwork of all barrows is heavily eroded and while earth moved out, also many kerbstones were moved out of place and partly covered. |
