This is the eighth stone in the circle, counting clockwise from north. There are eight stones in the ring, with a gap on the northern side where presumably the ninth stone (of the Nine Stones) stood. There is a more angular granite pillar at the centre of the circle, but this is a more modern parish boundary marker. |
