Indeed, when I was searching for the stone with my dowsing rods, on 22nd May 07, I was led here, so am wondering if the stone (which was re-erected) might possibly have stood on this mound originally?
(The bracken was very vigorous then, and it was difficult to access, but two large stones stand either side of the mound, one slightly obscured in the vegetation!)
Please see plan submitted for this site's position, to the east of Dry Tree menhir. |
| Posted Comments: JimChampion (2007-10-26) | Looking at the aerial photos, and your map and description I'd guess this mound is the circular feature at SW72622115, just over 50 metres due east of the current position of the Dry Tree menhir. Its not marked on the highest resolution OS map, but that doesn't mean its not prehistoric. I'll look into it a bit more. |
