I estimated the alignment to be 220 degs. |

(2007-11-05) | In another photo I've just posted [of the view from the SW corner of this field (distant centre left) to where I'm standing above], I tried to explain how the site of Spinsters' Rock is level, with the closest higher ground behind me here, to NE, and in the next field (centre left) to SW. To SE and NW the ground can be seen sloping downwards, leaving the dolmen on a sort of 'plateau-like' ceremonial arena, perhaps?
(My modern brain is thinking 'tree-less' - thinking of that great alignment to Kes Tor! - but maybe it was all wooded?) |
