|Description ||On a wonderfully clear day in October, looking north east up the Lleyn Peninsula. |
The location is noted on COFLEIN as also being known as Coetan Arthur, their ref being NPRN: 93509, at GR SH22973456.
Gorgeous pic, pab, and very good light. Weren't you lucky!
Those pointy mountains make a magical backdrop, don't they? The capstone even seems to have its own little peak!
Thanks Angie - this one was for you, as I thought you'd appreciate the way the mountain profile almost matched the capstone's!
The triple peaks on the left horizon are Yr Eifl ('The Rivals), 17.5km NE - so we really were fairly lucky to have seen them so clearly! The most easterly of the 3 is actually Tre'r Ceiri Hillfort.
Thanks pab, very kind of you! Yes, I could picture where the mountains were, but too lazy to look up their names! Aren't they the ones above Bachwen dolmen? Must go back there next year - fingers crossed!
