|Description ||The 'Alexander Sarcophagus', it gets it name from a scene on it that depicts 'Alexander the Great' winning a victory over the Persians. The sarcophagus came from the 'Royal Necropolis of Sidon' in what is now Lebanon and was made in the last quarter of the 4thcenturyBC (325-300BC). there is some argument amongst scholars about who's sarcophagus it was but the traditional view is that it belonged to King Abdalonymos of Sidon.|
The Alexander Sarcophagus is on display in Istanbul Archaeological Museum.
