(The other was the 'V' notch in the stones at SW of circle). My compass-reading gave its position as 30 degs from the centre of the circle.
It is called 'Rannach Cruim Dubh' ('Prominent Black Stooper') according to some information I had back in 2001.
The curious little stone to its left here has been called a 'Goddess idol'. |
| Posted Comments: AngieLake (2007-11-11) | "The largest of these stones is in the shape of a massive rectangle, four feet thick by seven feet wide, with fourteen feet above the ground and five more sunk below the surface. To hide the rocks which supported the bases of the stones, clay was packed down to a depth of over two feet across the entire area of the enclosure."
