Description A little lower down the slope are some other curious stones (foreground) with pointed tops, which could have been significant to the site.
I'm sure the long ridge of Belstone Tor was used by the ancients in measuring various risings of the sun and moon.
This view is approximately SE.

The natural 'seat' on the 2nd summit of Belstone Tor, which I was sitting on in the other pic, is above the right-hand (SW) stone of the Nine Stones circle.
