Duganaoud menhir is also called "la Man Leva" in occitan language (" The Raised Hand " because it was the custom to raise a hand when one walked past this menhir by way of respect and of greeting.
Duganaoud has also certainly for origin " d' Iganaoud " which indicate in occitan language of the department of the Tarn the persons of Protestant religion.
In every case, this stone was or respected (one raised the hand to greet it) or been afraid (the owl is a night bird so, by superstition, malefic) |
