Picture shows some stone alignment with a Silbury Hill-esque hill in background. The alignment also runs through the centre of the inner cricle of a dual ringed circle.
There is road on a moor directly behind the hill and from the centre of the circle it appears as though cars are actually driving on top of the hill. Could be an ancient trackway thats been continously used.

| Posted Comments: fitz (2005-05-27) | Howdo Rich, I'm afraid this ain't the Commondale Circle.
The 'Silbury-esque' hill is Freeborough Hill which is a natural hill but may have associations with a number of local monuments.
Theres a bit more info on Freeborough Hill here; http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/1583
and one of a few a possible associations here;

Fitz | rich32 (2005-08-19) | fitz, many thanks, I was just out driving & decided to stop the car & go for a walk. Didn't have a clue where I was & was GPS-less at the time, Commondale was a best guess . I'll have a look at the links & see if I can fathom out where I was....it was something stoney & circular anyway:-) |
