Description 26 July 2007. A close-up of the giant Homer Simpson painted on Giant Hill (to the left of the Giant himself). Part of a stunt to publicise the cinema release of the Simpsons film. The figure was made using water-based paint - the idea being that it would gradually fade away.

This was our second visit to the Giant viewing area on this afternoon - on the first it was pelting down with rain and not good photography conditions. This photo sees the giant Homer illuminated by sunlight during a rare break in the clouds. His bright whiteness was in strong contrast to the faded outline of the Cerne Giant. Several of the other visitors in the car park were photographing the Homer and didn't even seem to notice the priapic giant!

So - Is it lucky to stand on the Y fronts?? Some seem to favour the do'nut....

I think they all went for the do'nut in the end.

Was that a 'Doh'-nut, you meant Jim?
(BTW: I was thinking about the fertility as pects of the Y-fronts!)

How did they make the hole in the donut - was the giant involved somehow?
