Contact them for permission to reproduce it. |  | | Description | The enormous cross shaft outside St Peter's in Wolverhampton - the remains of an Anglo-Saxon Monastery. Some sources say 9th Century, others 10th. It is thought the cross shaft is a Roman column, transported from Wroxeter, and carved. Speaking with members of an archaeological group a few months ago, they reported anecdotal evidence that perhaps an Iron Age hillfort once was where the city centre, and St Peter's, now are - it is the highest point of the city. |
