This bowl barrow at grid reference SU34550123 was excavated in 1941-2, and it was found that the 23 metre diameter mound was superimposed on a smaller, 11 metre diameter, ditched bowl barrow containing a cremation and food vessel. It is currently surrounded by the remains of roads and buildings of the Second World War airfield. |
