It shows the active face of the large gravel quarry at el-Mareighat (al-Murayghat). Note the dolmens on top of the hill-they are threatened by the continuing operation of the quarry. I've asked a friend who will be in Jordan to visit the site and take up-to-date pictures. |

In my last visit the state of the site is as i saw in the 2007 visit.
They opened new quarry south of the dolmen site ,hopefully they stay there.
Maybe the Archaeological department of Jordan did something about it?!
