Contact them for permission to reproduce it. | | | Description | The enormous cross arm at Winwick, from a cross believed to have been 20 feet tall. Compare with the Sandbach Crosses for height. This was being used as a tomb stone (engraving on rear); carvings at either end of the arms relate Oswald being dismembered by the Pagan King Penda's supporters, and people carrying water from the nearby well which was formed, it is said, by the carrying away of soil from where Oswald was slain. |
