This eerie city of the dead climbs up the western side of Lissos' narrow valley. The tombs comprise small (approx. 3m x 2m x 2.5 high) barrel vaulted chambers with small doorways. Some even have what appear to be small, ornamental chimneys on top, reinforcing the notion that these are indeed, houses of the dead. |
