Description The COFLEIN entry for this site refers to a Spring (supposed 'Holy Well') near the church of St Michael shown in this picture.
The church seems to be no longer in use, as it has no indication of its patron saint etc. Although, the latest headstone dates from this decade. In case it is not immediately evident (!), the name of the church, (Llanfihangel) means St Michael's. The position of the Spring on the COFLEIN site would be in the woods on the left of this picture. The view from the churchyard is simply wonderful.

The Church is still in limited use (06/2010) there are services on 1st Sunday of the month June - October.

The possible Holy Well or Spring mentioned on Coflein is out of this picture to the right of the church. But there is a Well/Spring in the woods to the left of the church. the well has stone built sides and a roof, it has been piped down to an old iron trough just outside the entrance to the churchyard, at the time of my visit (31 May 2010) the well was completly dry.

Thanks Hamish for the update, I will try again to locate the wells next time we are in the area. Did you manage to explore on the top of the hill itself, which I recall having a strangely unwelcoming atmosphere to it?
