The earthworks on the top of the hill are the Iron Age ramparts of Battlesbury Camp, those lower down are medieval strip-lynchets. This site is on the edge of the MoD's Salisbury Plain training area and is very well preserved. The trees on the left hand side of the hill (the southwest facing slope) are part of Battlesbury Wood. |
