The last stop of our Easter holidays, last Saturday evening. Perhaps the most appropriate too, considering the link with a hare...*
The churchyard is the biggest circular churchyard I have ever seen. It positively oozes a sense of the numinous. Not one ancient yew, but at least four. One of them is certified as at least two thousand years old. The situation of the church has mountains, big towering presences of mountains, to the south, west, and north. It is open to the east, towards the main Tanat Valley. A recommended visit. If you call here, also call at St Cynog's at Llangynog, which you have to pass in order to get to St Melangell.
