The fence is broken as well. What is to become of the site. |
| Posted Comments: davidmorgan (2007-02-19) | Give it time to heal, it might look good. I'm guessing EH must have authorised this. | AngieLake (2007-02-20) | Oh my God! I hope the tree, itself, is going to be saved? Thanks for this Hamish. | JimChampion (2007-02-20) | William Stukeley's 1723 etching of the site shows it as being completely devoid of trees, and certainly without a metal fence and metalled road. The tree felling/branch lopping was something to do with fungus. | AngieLake (2007-11-24) | Did any of the admins take a photo of this view last weekend?? I was wondering how the poor old tree is recovering. [Assuming it is still there, and not completely felled!] | JimChampion (2007-11-24) | It still looks pretty much the same. The sawdust had dispersed and there's a bit of undergrowth behind the tree now. |
