It would be interesting to know more about what was found! | donstobbart (2007-03-29) | According to the Transactions of the CWAAS, a number of human bones were found in this cist in the 1880's when it was excavated by Greenwell and Simpson. The White Raise Cairn is shown to be a "starfish" shape in the Transactions (1886, p334) Taylor who published the survey states that the body contained in the cist must have been "Deposited in a bent or doubled up position." |
