Description My effort a few years ago on a misty murky day to get the Ding Dong Minehouse inside Lanyon Quoit. I was quite disappointed with the results, and not only because of the murky day. I of course should have done some gardening before laying on the damp ground to remove the foreground grass. A wide angle shot of the quoit would have looked much more like I was wanting, but to get the engine house bigger, a telephoto shot was required. Or of course some jiggery pokery, as I suspect was done in the picture I had in my mind which I had seen somewhere. But after Jim's shot and all the comments, I thought I'd submit this anyway, to perhaps inspire others to go do much better !

Yer a good fella-sometimesweather does not prevail and things cannot be satisfied however you'd like it to be-you've got good composition here and nowt to worry about; i did a similar shot with gun hill with jodrell bank in the background it was out of focus but telephoto and 20 miles away what can you do?Great quoit.

Ding Dong. Its good and I think the grass adds to it. Please don't indulge in too much jiggery pokery - I can't stand (for example) moons that occupy half the sky!

I like it Martyn. The stones have lots of texture, and the pale grass is lovely - it breaks up the foreground nicely. Ding Dong looks a little larger than usual, but overall, it's good.

thanks for those nice comments. Theres no jiggery pokery here, nor in any of my pictures, except for a little bit of brightness and contrast tweaking at times. I just never have the time for such things, and wouldnt know how to go about it anyhow. And I also generally dont like to see things messed about with too much. Wonder if I meant that grass to have been there at the time - I guess I must have !
