A Christianised Pagan site is certainly not without precedent in North Wales, but there is effectively nothing to prove this was in use before St Garmon turned up on the scene.

| Posted Comments: mishkin (2006-10-24) | According to Breverton, at Llanarmon, in Plasdu Farm yard, a huge standing stone was to be found but he can't vouch for it being there now.
Fuller version of Garmon story;
Garmon came to the area in 447, and sought refuge at the mountain stronghold of Benlli Gawr, a giant chieftan but he was refused admission. However, Cadell took pity on him and gave him food and shelter, Garmon warned Cadell of a storm about to happen. The storm killed Benlli Gawr and Cadell became chief, giving Garmon land at Llanarmon yn Ial, Llanarmon Dyfrryn Ceiriog and another church.
He also mentions a well at Ffynnon Armon near a field called Ca'er Saint which effected miraculous cures.
