Situated in the Castlefields area (big name clue there!), just 3 minutes away from the Museum of Science & Industry, a few more from the Coronation Street set, and about 5 minutes walk from the G-Mex centre, this is a worthy visit.
The double ditches, ramparts, wall, granary foundations, double gateway with guardroom above are a boon for the Roman heritage of the city, and a fantastic educational asset when taking (or receiving) Roman tours from the MSIM across the road.
Inside the reconstructed guard room (not accessible unless on a tour through MSIM's Education Service). |
