This strange infant-like stone craft is sitting in Bada Valley, Sulawesi, Indonesia. It is considered a megalith. Megalith means a structure or monument made of one or many large stones. While megalith can be found around the world, the ones in Bada are different. European megaliths usually are put together and become a structure or a circle, Stonehenge for example. This megalith has been name “Palindo” which means the entertainer. It is about 4.5 meters tall and it is the biggest statue in the area. Due to there is no research found, the creater, the purpose and how old it is are unknown. The locals say they have always been there. More interestingly, all of the statues here are made of the stone that couldn’t be found in the area.
http://www.moxon.net/indonesia/bada_valley.html | stonesavant (2010-10-17) | Note the overt phallic symbolism and the tilt of the stone. The people who originally placed this stone tilted it on purpose and had no need to depict overt priapism. The undecorated stone is sufficiently phallic. This would also indicate the stones in Indonesia originated with a seafaring Goddess culture.
In Europe, stones that tilt like this usually have a lunar orientation.
We should believe the local people. These megaliths have always been there, at least as far back as any tribe can remember. What does this tell us? A prior civilization put the stones in place long before the Shamanic asians arrived. Whoever it was, was capable of quarrying and shipping stones of impressive size... In my opinion the faces were carved on the stones by the more recent animistic populations, but the stones themselves, and their specific placement in telluric loci, are probably Neolithic. If I am correct then we see another example of the Stone Age Astronomer culture, probably from Morbihan, thousands of miles away from their home base. Most of the transpacific cultures I have studied are unaware of dowsing, probably because they had enough water in streams and rivulets. BUt Dowsing isn't really all about finding water... basiclly its about tracing earth's magnetic fields. | kassos (2013-01-02) |
IT CERTAINLY RESEMBLES THE EASTER ISLAND STATUES........THE GENERAL SHAPE AND ESPECIALLY THE HANDS AND ARMS........
AND SULAWESI IS A LONG WAY FROM EASTER ISLAND.......THOUSANDS OF MILES...........LOOKS LIKE THE FOLKS THAT CREATED THIS STATUE WERE CONNECTED WITH THE SAME FOLKS THAT INHABITED EASTER ISLAND........... | Martin L (2013-01-03) | Shape and style obviously show no similarity to that found on the Easter Islands. Of course both cultures created anthropomorphic menhirs, but it hardly needs a connection to come up with such an idea at different places of the world. |
