Contact them for permission to reproduce it. | | | Description | Take the B3254 through Launceston past the castle, down the hill and up the other side to St. Stephens Church. At the church turn left and after a very short distance as the main road swings right, don’t follow it, but keep almost straight ahead onto a very narrow lane. After about a quarter of a mile a footpath/lane leads off to the right. St Stephen's Well can be seen a short way up it amongst the trees.
St Steven's Wellhouse is the building at the front of the photo. I have been told that the structure at the back with the grill is probably where some of the water was diverted in the 19th century as a source of local water supply. Water still runs from under the grill …. that is the source of most of the water lying in front of the wellhouse.
