|Description ||The name Tobar nan Ceann or 'Well of the Heads' is still known locally but there is no surety that they are one in the same.|
A local resident told us a story relating, presumably, to this well ….. William Munro of Foulis, probably in some judicial capacity, led a group of Munros, Dingwalls and MacCullochs to attack Hector Mackenzie, probably at Kinnellan near Strathpeffer. On their return, they were ambushed by MacKenzies at Drum a Chaitt. Decapitation was rife with many heads tumbling down the hillside and coming to rest at a well above Fodderty Churchyard.
