The broad often sunlit clearing in which they stand is usually the visitor's first sight as he or she enters the megalith park.
At the visitors' center, a small green building to the side, one may buy various modest items or sit in a chair and listen to 'Celtic' music and read books about 'Celtic' people without charge, as part of the Columcille experience.
The knowledge that Celtic culture reached the British Isles thousands of years after the famous stone circles and monoliths were erected seems not to have reached this wooded haven, but that fact does not reduce the charm and peaceful mood of the landscape, and should not discourage the dedicated megarak from putting it on his itinerary should he ever be in the area. |
