|Description ||The Romans added this building to the old agora, close to the forum in the 2nd Century BCE though it was paid for by their Ally, King Attalos of Pergamon. It served as a market place under the colonnade. The back of the building was intact on account of being incorporated into fortifications in 267 CE, only the columns and roof were replaced during renovations in the mid 1950s. It is now for the most part museum with some interesting statues. |
The Greeks also call it Stoa Attalou.
The site is directly under the Acropolis. View of the entire Agora.
