The huge outer rampart of the Iron Age promontory fort can be seen on the far left of the photo (covered in bracken). There are remains of hut circles in the dip between the headland and the rocky promontory. Must have been a bit of a windy place to live for most of the year? |
| Posted Comments: AngieLake (2006-09-02) | This would be a super addition to a tourist brochure! Nice to have a reminder of that lovely summer as we endure the grey, dismally-wet day outside!! | JimChampion (2006-09-02) | Thank. From the weather forecast before we went to Cornwall I thought the whole week would be dismally-wet. Thankfully it wasn't. I took this pic to deliberately show the width of the promontory fort - I have better 'picture postcard' images of the beach but they aren't very "prehistoric"! | nicoladidsbury (2006-09-03) | This is beautiful Jim, wish I was there in that sunshine |
