Look from this dried up river bed, and there is the cave, up a short scramble. The mouth is elongated and curved, with a hole about 6 feet up (wide enough to crawl through - but getting up there is another issue), and the opens into a wide fissure beyond. Speaking with a Brummie chap who's been coming to the area for some time, and my having left the area, his description of the cave I found didn't match. However, even the Trent & Peak Archaeological Trust couldn't agree on which cave here was the lynx cave in notes on the NMR - so it appears uncertainty is the name of the game. |
