|Description ||Situated on the cost of the Arabian see, Dwarka, Gujarat is one of the most renowned places of pilgrimage for millions of Hindus.|
It was once the capital of Lord Krishna's kingdom.
|Is this part of a temple or part of a palace? How old is it? Are there ruins underwater near here? (Room for all 16,000 wives?)|
|This is the front of gomtidwarka temple.
There are numeruos references to the citi (Dwarka), in anciant Hindu texts such as Mahabharata,Skanda Purana,Vishnu Purana etc..
Excavations in Dwarka in 1963 indicates that the earliest occupation was +- 1st century BCE. Lord Krishna's Dwarka ,which is likely submerged a millenium earlier, are intencively excavated ,but reports are scares. look up Dwarka under water excavations in google.|
