Contact them for permission to reproduce it. |  | | Description | Hahor temple at Timna valley, south western Arava, some 30 Km north of the golf of Eilat, with extensive remains of human activity beginning the middle 5th millennium BCE.
On the foot of a huge sandstone formation in the centre of the Timna valley: "King Solomon's Pillars" a small Egyptian temple has been excavated. It was dedicated to Hathor, the Egyptian goddess of Minors and way farers. The excavator, prof. Beno Rothenberg stated that it was founded during the reign of Pharaoh Seti I (1318-1304 BCE). Dr. Avner Uzi, the restorer of the temple concluded that its much older and originally Midyanit (local people) according to the stratigraphic situation (in publication). He claims that in the Egyptian phaze it was used by both, Midyanit and Egyptian. The Masseboth on the Western side is Semitic, and it is on the same level as the Hathor altar.
