|Description ||Celtic Chieftains Tumulus in Glauberg dating to 500 BCE, just south of the Hillfort. The site was discovered in 1988 when anomalies showed up on the aerial photography. The content of the tumulus had drifted into the henge like ditch and processional way surounding the mound and leading South. The grave in the middle was empty, but artifacts, in particular a complete life sized limestone statue were found in two other graves within the ditch. The mound was restored afterwards.|
The outline marks the location in the ditch where the statue was found.
This site is the one most copmarable to Tara ireland in all of Germany.
