| Posted Comments: hamish (2006-05-20) | I love these pictures, they remind me of things, regretfully of long ago. | TimPrevett (2006-05-20) | When leaving the area, I try to keep the view of the tor for as long as I can. It is a landscape to which I feel very connected, and sad to leave. | stonesavant (2011-08-08) | If we compares Maltwood's aerial shots (1924) with mine from 1974 and these you can see a rapid deterioration in the strip lynchettes. The labyrinth is Bronze Age and yet it is fading rapidly. In 20 years it will look like a few bumps. This is due to cow and sheep grazing allowed by the local government to keep the, "tourist attraction" looking green and also by humans who cross the hill in all directions. Something must be done. |
