(2006-03-27) | The pieces of granite broken out of the plinth supporting the Needle were caused by a WW2 bomb during the blitz! | Thorgrim
(2006-03-27) | Yes and I'm glad that it hasn't been repaired. This is just about the only evidence of the Blitz that you can see in London. Hiroshima preserved its Atom bombed temple and I do feel that London should have retained some visual evidence of the sustained bombing it endured. |
