Lovely pics, Nicola [I like your included shadow here, and the snow gives a nice touch too], and thanks for a very interesting article about this circle. I was also suprised not to find it on the OS maps, so this explains the 'is it?-isn't it?' situation quite clearly. Must be one of the easiest to access from the roadside anywhere in Britain?

The article on the main page wasn't written by me unfortunately Angie, tho I found it very interesting too. I think the most easily accessable stone circle has to be Long Meg, as the road goes right through it! Thanks for you comments. It was lovely up there. A seldom seen part of the lakedistrict, and beautiful because of that fact.

Oh dear - (DOH!) - how *could* I forget Long Meg???!!! I seem to have started something with that quote from Wainwright! I was using his book when I visited Blakeley Raise, or Kinniside, as he called it. Did you drive towards the coast from here? I remember seeing a great view of the sea (and the Isle of Man?) after leaving the circle on the way to Muncaster Castle.

We drove Northward, homewards for me, back up to CaerLugh (Calisle)! There are great views over to the sea. I was quite suprised at how lovely it was up there.
