Description No doubt inspired by the Battersea Shield, the forest drive at Cwmcarn, which has the Twm Barlwm hillfort at its heart, recreates many cultural items celebrated as 'Celtic'. Many figures and tales from the Mabinogion are sculpted, and this 'Battersea Shield' at a picnic area, adjoining a gate caught our attention!

Yes, I have been up there a few times lately, and have come to the conclusion that Twmb Arlwm is a tumulus and not a hillfort; the name itself says it; and the ditch and rampart around it look more like and enclosure than a defence.....
