|Description ||The large summit barrow, as Helen Burnham labels it, looking south. There should be an amazing, panoramic delight... I think a return trip in summer is called for. I'd been itching to get up here for years...|
|Very chilly! The frost and fence are great. Now why did the run the fence right over the barrow, rather inconsiderate aint it!|
|Keep these frosty photos coming - very atmospheric and seem to capture the essence of the site ( as an aside - they make me feel nearly - I did say nearly!- homesick ! Last time I saw frost like that was over 20 years ago!! Unless you ignore the last time I sorted out my freezer)|
|Most of the major barrows / cairns seemed to be used for modern boundary usage; arguably, a continuation of the barrows' function, one might say, albeit less visually appealing.|
