Contact them for permission to reproduce it. | | | Description | I recorded this today during a surface collection survey in Thetford Forest at TL84508756. Unfortunately, as it formed part of the sample (a 3% sample of the surface finds), I removed this one for recording onto the SMR with the survey results.
It is a broken polished flint axe head - Neolithic, in situ in the exposed soils of a restocked forestry compartment. Quite possibly some local farmer over 4,100 years ago left it somewhere around this spot when it broke during work.
Other finds in the survey - I will take a week to process everything ready for submission, but there were a couple of scrapers, a small piercer, several blade-like flakes. |
