On the left can also be seen Stone 201 which was once part of the Northern Inner Circle that surrounded the cove. [22.06.05] |
| Posted Comments: AngieLake (2006-01-08) | Has this stone got something in common with Stone 206, which was at the east of the circle surrounding the Cove? Both have the same curious cleft/indentation, but is it just natural, or man-made? (Pic of stone 206 posted same day). | Ethelwulf (2006-08-26) | Good old Avebury (with the emphasis upon the old!) I suppose we'll never know about the indentions you have observed.
I passed through here in '94, and this village and giant circle, was absolutely stunning. Excellent photography here, Angie, comparing the tallest of the 'phallic' stones.
Now, where did I leave Ethelwulf's big chopper....? | AngieLake (2006-08-26) | Ha!ha!... thanks for comments. |
