Description This arc of the Merry Maidens is bathed in light from the setting sun on May 25th 2005. The nearest stone to the camera was approximately at the ESE of the circle, and such an unusual shape compared to the other more rectangular ones that I christened it the 'Goddess Stone', as it has the curvy shape of a female torso and was the focus of the final part of my ritual movement dowsing exercise.
(The first part of the movement addressed 290 degs - sunward - on a short looping walk out of the circle, then after 2 small and 2 large anticlockwise swirls in front of the nearest stone to that exit, followed the internal arc NW-NE and back. At approx N, it approached the centre, where 5 tighter anti swirls were followed by 3 large anti swirls that gradually reduced in size. Then 24 tight anti swirls occurred in the centre, before two thin petal shapes of loops started towards the ESE, between which were 7 anti swirls followed by 12 clockwise. After the second 'petal', 12 more clockwise swirls, ending in a final approach to the Goddess Stone with my rods opening three times as they often do when approaching an important area of the ritual. (Happens on entrance to chambered tombs, and entrance to circles.)
Logging this whole movement in case someone else has had a similar experience! Hamish Miller, perhaps??

I followed the energy to that stone from St Buryan , it threw me aprox 9 or ten feet backwards, when I touched the stone at a precise spot, I too find the spirals flowing clockwise and anticlockwise in and out of the centre spot, but your description is much more evocotive of the experience than I could explain. Kevin.

Thanks Kevin, it's good to know someone understands. Thanks, too Jim. It was a lovely evening. Sadly found out a couple of hours later that my favourite uncle had died that afternoon. Dedicate this pic to him.

Angie, when You say you rods open and close three times when approaching a stone. At a circle such as the Merry Maidens, what I find is, A series of straight lines, that cross in the aprox centre of the circle, this is usually between 11 and 19 lines, these lines are a group of nine parrarel linesaprox 200 feet at the widest two. the result of this is the most stunning geometric patterns, if you record the angles of all the lines and draw out the result, I can measure all these lines etc. upon this system of invisable lines I detect something else, flowing along them is a sort of energy, this spirals at this spot in a series of devine proportion golden ratio shape spirals. Every thing I detect and measure conforms to nature .618, 1.618. Also from the crossing spot I detect polygons, multi sided, almost resembling circles, these eminate out from the centre spot at 13 inch centres, as I walk out from the centre my rods open every 13 inchs( I tip them back forward each time ) Hopefully we could meet up and sort of compare, I live in Oxon, but have friends in St Buryans, who we stay with quite often. Kevin.

Thanks Kevin. Everyone seems to have their own angle on dowsing, and mine is trying to follow the most original and ancient ritual movements, and is nothing like your intricate energy lines. What you said in your first posting was more like I'm finding, ie: the most important stones, etc. If I'm planning a trip to Cornwall I'll certainly contact you and we can do as you suggest.

Thanks Nicola, and I bet you'd be really good at dowsing!
