Troy Town Maze.
This place as it is, is still a marvelous sight to visit. So barren, but serene with the shore so close in proximity to the ancient stones. |

The real problem is that although this place is remote - too many people tread the maze and the path, which is on soft white sand, gets badly eroded and the stones dislodged. Go there, but resist the tempatatin to walk the maze - not easy. | AngieLake (2005-12-29) | I think this is a beautiful composition. Pity about the dowsers' mistakes. | uisdean (2007-02-02) | I first visited this maze in the early 1950s, before the dowsers had reconstructed it. At that time there was no erosion - the stones were set into the turf. Local ledgend has it that the maze was constructed by a bored lighthouse keeper in the 18th Century, but who knows? |
